Our Story

Welcome to The Purcell Rooms – Hair, Beauty & Wellbeing

We’re proud to welcome you to The Purcell Rooms, now open in Hook after nearly 16 wonderful years serving our loyal clients in North Warnborough, near Odiham.

This new chapter is particularly special—it brings us back full circle. Years ago, I began my career just a few doors down from our new location, at a salon called Variations. Now, I’m incredibly proud to return with my own hand-picked team of talented, kind, and dedicated professionals.

Michael

Director / Owner

Hi I'm Michael

I love seeing happy, confident clients leave the salon with beautiful hair and skin. I'm committed to constant growth - always aiming to be better than day before and to exceed client expectations.

My background includes a Higher National Degree in Theatre Studies, Level 3 hairdressing, advanced cutting and colouring training with Vidal Sassoon and SACO Hair Academy, plus many other course's including Wella Master Colour Expert and a year long business management course level4/5 that's helped strengthen the salon behind the scenes.

Hobbies include the gym, working out to Joe Wicks, walking our dogs and helping out with worthwhile causes, charity and helping elderly neighbours.

After 24 years in the Navy, I moved into financial services and now support operations at The Purcell Rooms. I enjoy working with our talented team and building great relationships with our clients.

Janos

Director Stylist

Hi, my name is Janos, and I am a Director Stylist with 38 years of professional experience. I joined Purcell Rooms 7 years ago, bringing with me a rich international career.
I earned my qualification in Hungary and have successfully adapted my expertise across different countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom, where I have lived for the past 13 years. In Hungary, I worked for 5 years as a Lead Stylist on talk shows and numerous photo shoots, gaining extensive experience in high-profile projects.
My primary goal as a stylist is to provide clients with a complete service experience — beginning with a thoughtful consultation and concluding with a finished hairstyle that enhances their individuality. My true passion is complete transformation, both in colour and cut.
Among my key strengths are precision blow-drying for long hair with a round brush and expertly crafted pixie cuts.

Stylist

Hi, I’m Jemma! I’ve been part of this salon family for 5 years and have been loving the hairdressing world for 9 years. I’m all about keeping hair healthy while creating effortless, natural looks—especially with long hair and highlights, where I really shine. That said, I also adore bringing bold, funky fashion colours to life! With NVQ Level 2 & 3 qualifications and plenty of courses and training, I’m always excited to learn more. Plus, when it comes to Aveda, I know it like the back of my hand!

Senior Beautician

Hi, I’m Sheena!
I’ve been in the beauty world for 25 years, and for the past 17 of those I’ve had the joy of working here at The Purcell Rooms. I absolutely love helping my clients feel fabulous, relaxed, and confident. My true passions are nails and facials – there’s nothing better than adding a little sparkle or glow to someone’s day! It’s such a pleasure to be part of this amazing team, and I can’t wait to pamper you soon!

Rebecca

Beautician

I’m Rebecca and I am a Level 2,3 and 4 VTCT qualified beauty therapist with extra qualifications. I have a passion for helping clients feel happy, relaxed, and confident after their treatments. My favourite areas of beauty are massage and facials, especially deep muscle massages that really make a difference to how people feel. I love creating a calm and welcoming environment where clients can switch off and enjoy some much-needed self-care. Outside of work, I have lots of hobbies which keep me busy and active.
