My name is Michael Purcell and I am the director here at the Purcell Rooms
Let me tell you a little bit about how my salon has evolved here.
It was nearly 13 years ago when I first had sight of the premises here in North Warnborough, close to the historic village of Odiham, North Hampshire.
I knew then that it would make an excellent sight for my dream salon. With the space available I was confident that I could provide a luxurious salon which was a pleasure to work in and surroundings that were both charming and convenient for our clientele.
I have been hairdressing for 30 years and accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the hair and beauty industry. This experience includes theatre and television, as well as professional photographic shoots and the organisation of many hair shows. My foundation training was secured with Guy Kremer, in my later years I have realised I have to thank Guy for making me the fastidious and hardworking hairdresser I am today . Thanks GUY :)
I believe wholeheartedly in ongoing training regularly attending courses with the FHBF. These included many cutting courses, two of which were with the Hairdresser of the year – Andrew Barton and I have taken part in courses with Patrick Cameron concentrating on the art of hair-up. All of my staff attend regular in house and exterior training which I feel is essential in a fashion industry . We continually invest in all the latest products and services.
In recent times I achieved the Master Colour Expert Title, One of only 700+ in the United Kingdom. Among my major qualifications are a HND in Make-up and Business Management level 4.
We were one of the first salons in the area to use Olaplex and Colorplex, state of the art hair bonding systems improving the condition of the hair up to 200% whilst we colour or just treat . Its a must for anyone!
In 2017 I was the winner of Innovation of the year at the British Hairdressing Awards which is incredibly exciting.
The salons aim is to have a highly skilled and caring team that caters for all individual’s hair and beauty needs and where personalised service is the key component to our business. I especially want our guests to enjoy their time at the salon and the results they leave with. I am very keen to hear from them if this is not the case.
